So while the energy level is not through the roof yet, let me take this brief moment to say that as of 9:54am this morning, Dec. 27th mommy's water broke!!
Believe it or not I couldn't sleep (because she was snoring like a Harley Davidson) and so I got up to play Playstation. However I've been wishing for you to come this weekend since right before the middle of December. Never let it be said that wishes don't come true!!
So mommy got up around 9:15am played with Juno and used the bathroom. She laughed hysterically at things she was looking at on IG and then decided to get up to fold your clothes that she had washed the night before. It was about 15 minutes after she sat down to do that when she stopped talking to me mid sentence and got up to walk to the bathroom. "I think my water broke" she said as she walked away and I replied with an excited and sort of nervous "You serious?" And we exchanged that exact monologue back and forth about 3 times before I started to put on my pants and walked towards her. I kid you not, I had literally said "your water needs to break already" to myself just 2 minutes before she got up!!
So I stood at the bathroom door and she had a smile on her face telling me again "yes, I'm dead serious, my water just broke." Grandma heard the commotion from her room and got up in excitement. I told her "Antoinette's water just broke!" She replied "Really!?" And then the phone call to the doctor was made.

So the doctor gave us some simple instructions and told us to wait and that's what we're doing.
So we've been at the hospital for a little over 2 hours now.
I never realized all the prep that goes into delivering s baby. Lol. Don't judge me.
I'm not supposed to shoot film while the delivery is taking place but I had every intention from day one of shooting pictures and video. Shhhhhh don't tell anyone. Lol. Grandma of course, is here telling me to follow directions, but c'mon!! Lol.

So It's been about 10 hours and mommy is still in Labor. Listen Zairah, RESPECT YOUR MOTHER!!! Ok!? She had to have an epidural not once but twice and she made it through.
I've never broken a bone or been through serious surgery or anything so I rate my level of toughness strictly off the fact that I rode Kingda Ka at 6 Flags a few times. I felt that after accomplishing that I could do it all. But I doubt I have what it take to go through what I just witnessed your mom go through. And she hasn't even started pushing yet. So again. Respect your mommy!

9:41am. You've been here for one hour and 20 minutes baby. Oh my God! I cried more than you did! I've never felt this overwhelming feeling of joy!! You mean the world to me already. You were born at 8:24am and I could not get over it!! You were 7lbs. 4oz. And when I went over to your bassinet you held on to my hand tighter than anyone has ever before. You held on to that Pinky as if it were the only thing you had in this world. It was in this moment that you had me!!
I promise you baby girl I will never let you go.
I don't even have the words right now. I'm simply documenting so that it's written as it happens.
I Love you Zairah, I held you and I felt the weight of the world in my arms. Not because you're heavy; but because you are my world!!
Aunt Pia has been here with us since yesterday. Aunti Claudia and uncle Danny came by as well. Grandma was here til very late and then went home to rest, but she will be back very soon.
Mommy was in labor for 22 and a half hours. Some moments harder than others but all in all you were completely worth it!! Mommy and Daddy love you. You'll be meeting all your grandparents today. It's raining which is only proof of God crying tears of joy along with mommy and Daddy.
Mommy is feeding you now so I'll write more feelings later.

3:20am
Daddy's Log
I'm coming back to our room where you've just been changed after a feeding.
Mommy of course, has me on a mission getting chips and ice. (I gave her a 30 day grace period before I'm done running errands for her.)
Anyway that's not what I'm logging. I just find it amazing that I can barely look at you without being so overwhelmed with joy that I can't keep it together and I start to tear up. Please do not be alarmed. There nothing wrong with me, daddy's just really happy! I just played some Bob Marley "Is this Love" and I swear your reaction to it was beautiful. I played some Bob Marley for you while you were in the womb and you always seemed to like it. It was such an amazing experience to actually see you react to it in the flesh. As you lie in bed I swear you were smiling and moving as if you're already trying to start crawling. You make baby noises as if you're already trying to speak!! Lol. I know just from looking at you that you will be doing both in no time.
I should have recorded you on Mommy's phone while I played you music on mine but no worries. We have the rest of our lives together.
Talk to you later sweetheart.
